Team Description

The University of Torino was founded in 1404 and is one of the most ancient and prestigious Italian Universities. It has about 70.000 students, 4.000 academic, administrative and technical staff, 1800 post-graduate and post-doctoral students. The University of Torino is today one of the largest Italian Universities, open to an international perspective in the fields of both research and training. The Department of Physics is one of the largest in Italy, with about one hundred staff members.

The Theoretical Physics Group and INFN Turin comprise approximately 30 permanent members, active in various research areas with a strong tradition in particle phenomenology, theoretical high-energy physics and statistical field theory. A list of the research groups can be found here (http://www.to.infn.it/attivita-scientifica/fisica-teorica/).

The Lattice Field Theory and Integrable Models group (http://personalpages.to.infn.it/~mattelli/index.html) has three permanent members, two senior members and currently two post-doctoral fellows and several PhD students. Some of the main research interests of the group are:
- the study of the confinement mechanism and finite-temperature properties of gauge theories, using both effective string theory models, holographic methods and Monte-Carlo simulations
- the conformal bootstrap program, in particular its extension to non-unitary theories
- integrability and exact methods in AdS/CFT dualities
- integrable models in mathematical physics, in particular the ODE/IM correspondence.
