Centre for Research in String Theory

The Centre for Research in String Theory conducts fundamental research in many important areas of modern theoretical physics. Our current research interests include

  • perturbative and non-perturbative aspects of (non-)supersymmetric quantum field theories, with particular emphasis on the mathematical structure of the scattering amplitudes in these theories;
  • the dynamics of branes in string theory and M-theory;  and
  • dualities in gauge and string theory.

The group has a long-standing reputation for pioneering work in string theory and in twistor-inspired approaches to scattering amplitudes, and its research strategy is to maintain this by rigorous standards of recruitment at all levels, and by fostering an environment that promotes the best research.
